As I read the Achieve3000 articles each day, I will use a variety of skills and strategies to comprehend non-fiction and informational texts. I will also read for a variety of purposes and across content area. And I will also read with fluency, silently and aloud, to support my comprehension. Lastly, I will use a variety of strategies to develop and expand my reading vocabulary.
When I write (or type) within the Achieve3000 activities each day, I will use an effective writing process, as I will takes notes and generate ideas during my pre-writing (reading connection) activities. During my reading connections and my thought questions, I will use knowledge of purpose, audience, format, and medium in developing my written communication. In this way, I will also be using writing as a tool for learning.
